Rock Climbing

Already climbed or bouldered in the gym? Know your figure eight from your bowline? Maybe you’re a new climber but keen for a bigger challenge. This is the tour for you.

Learn the art of granite climbing on cracks, slabs and even some steep featured face climbs. This adventure encompasses all the climbing styles of Mt Buffalo has to offer and will give you a great ‘taste test’ of the area. And for the icing on the cake, you’ll savour spectacular views from the highest point of the mountain.

In winter we move the climbing location to Mt Pilot. This north-facing cliff catches the winter sun and has some great granite climbing and warmer temperatures. You are in for an awesome day out.

If you'd like to brush up on some technical skills, our qualified guides specialise in climbing and teaching all the trad climbing skills you need.

If you’re looking to have a fun day out, there are so many classic routes to climb at Mount Buffalo that it’s hard to know where to start. How about the beginner-friendly route ‘Mother of Pearl’ (185 meters long, maximum grade 14) that finishes at a private natural swimming pool? Or the mega-classic sustained crack of ‘Where Angels Fear to Tread’ - not for the faint-hearted! Summit the singular block of The Cathedral on ‘Maharajah’ or ‘Sultan’, or just tick through a list of great single pitch options. We know the best because we get out and climb them, and we’re excited to share our playground with you.

Come and explore the full verticality of the North Wall of Mt Buffalo Gorge with an extended multi day ascent of the classic aid climbing route Ozymandias! This is not for the faint hearted and climbing experience is a must. Options vary from a fully catered experience with the guide doing the ‘heavy lifting’ to opportunities to lead some classic pitches. We can tailor the experience to meet your ability. All equipment supplied.
